The final roof surface preparation is the roofing felt installation in that the rest of the roof is covered with roofing felt. The reason as to why the roofing felt is applied is to prevent shingles from sticking to the wood. The new roofing material is then installed by installing from the bottom up, followed by counter flashing, vents and ridge capping installation.
